The Manukan Island Resort

Manukan Island resort is located off the coast of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah which provides an island gateway with luxurious accomadation options which was managed by Sutera Sanctuary Lodges. A 10 minutes boat rides from the city of Kota Kinabalu. And Manukan Island is the second largest island of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine National Park.

On the arrival to the Manukan Island resort jetty, the island is well equipped with facilities like souvenir shop, restaurant, sundry shop, washroom with shower cubicles. As for us, we took the outdoor tables and seats which are provided free for use.
There are also chalets for rental and booking can be made at the Sutera Sanctuary Lodges. However, we did not rent the chalets since we just went there for relaxation and had several activities like snorkelling, diving, banana boat ride, parasailing etc. My friends did the snorkelling and they experienced the beautifulness of the reefs at Manukan Island and enjoy the clear water along the beaches which offers easy access to the life of the marine creatures that live in shallow waters. Through snorkelling, my friends spent hours exploring the many different corals, where fishes live. By snorkelling around the shallow waters of Manukan Island is like submerging in a huge aquarium, fishes can be seen happily swimming with them.
As for me, I enjoyed the long white sandy beach facing the mainland and coupled with the sunny sun of the topic, this is a gorgeous place for a great suntan. However, I did not go there for a suntan because it might take a few days to heal if I got sun burn. I just enjoyed the scenery by relaxation at one of the outdoor table and seat near the souvenir shop by reading novel to release my stress and tension due to long period of workloads. Beside that also I enjoyed the stunning view of the other islands and trees and plants of the tropical forest.
After a long period of relaxation and had our picnic break, then we decided to enjoy other activities which was provided by the tour agents like the banana boats ride, parachute sailing and underwater sea walking. Scuba diving can also be arranged. As for us, we only took the banana boats ride and parachute sailing.
So, who ever read this article, if you feel tired of the hustle and bustle of the city life? Why don’t you try the island? Manukan Island is the perfect place to unwind and rejuvenate one body.
